Patrick Rothfuss’ birthday / Cumpleaños de Patrick Rothfuss

Today, 6th of June, is Patrick Rothfuss’ birthday and here in Roca de Guía we asked ourselves: what can we give him as a present?

Hoy 6 de Junio es el cumpleaños de Patrick Rothfuss y en Roca de Guía nos hemos planteado: Entre todos, ¿qué le podemos regalar?

We are all looking forward to read the third book, but we also know Patrick puts a lot of effort into his books. And like he said once, spending 14 hours per day working with the book just to find at the end of the day some Twitter user saying “Hey Pat, you’re so lazy, publish the third book once and for all” isn’t nice. In addition, we all want Patrick to visit the nearest convention/event to our city, but we don’t want him to stop writting for a minute. Well, it must be exhausting to be in his shoes.

So here is our suggestion. During all this day, his birthday, let’s try to not pressure him and let’s spread the hashtag #DontAskPatAboutThirdBook in the social networks so, at least today, Patrick can rest. We believe it would be a nice gift for him.

Todos tenemos muchas ganas de tener en nuestras manos el tercer libro. Pero también sabemos que Patrick le dedica mucho esfuerzo y cariño a sus libros, y como él mismo ha comentado alguna vez, no es agradable pasar 14 horas al día trabajando en alguna tarea del libro y que al final del día aparezca un usuario de Twitter diciendo “Hey Pat, qué flojo eres, a ver si publicas el libro de una vez”. Eso se une al hecho de que todos queremos que Patrick asista a la convención/evento de nuestra ciudad más cercana, pero a la vez no queremos que deje de escribir ni un momento del día. En fin, debe ser agotador estar en su lugar.

Así que os proponemos un regalo para Patrick. Durante todo el día de hoy, su cumpleaños, intentemos que nadie presione más a Pat y difundamos el hashtag #DontAskPatAboutThirdBook (“No preguntéis a Pat por el Tercer Libro”) en las redes sociales para que, al menos hoy, Patrick pueda descansar de la presión. Creemos que será un buen regalo para él.
